The use of lemon and caper sauce demonstrated the culinary finesse that the kitchen offers. Doug Ford's celebration of Chattanooga Burger Week with a Whistle Stop Burger reflects the restaurant's commitment to flavor, featuring a delightful combination of pimento cheese, bacon, and the unique outpost sauce that leaves you wanting more.
For taco enthusiasts, Taco Tuesdays here are a must-try, highlighted by Tamara Jones's rave about their tacos and the tasty Buffalo Chicken Dip, an ideal starter that she wished could have been a larger portion. Customers also delight in their happy hour offerings, like refreshing margaritas and perfectly crisp Greek salads paired with Regan’s famous chickpea burger, as noted by S. Hogan.
In summary, Outpost Bar & Restaurant is not just about eating; it's about creating memories through food and excellent service. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this vibrant spot promises a delicious dining experience that showcases the best of Chattanooga's culinary scene. “ We really enjoyed this place. We like that they stay open till eleven on Friday and Saturdays. The food was good, and it tastes like homemade food, not frozen. I really think the only thing bad i can say so far is that the tables are too tiny and the food came out way too fast because we had gotten an appetizer. ”
“ What a great experience I had at the Outpost. Service was excellent, cocktails were exceptional, and the food was fantastic. I had the trout over mashed potatoes and a side of Brussels sprouts. The trout had a lemon and caper sauce that truly complimented the dish. I thought it was more of a bar and grill when we entered and it turned out to be a hidden gem. The atmosphere is open and they also have a nice outdoor patio. Our service was exceptional. Highly recommend this establishment for a good meal and a good time. ”
“ My boyfriend and I just came into town for a little vacation. Based on the Google reviews, we decided to give it a try. After our 6 hr drive, this place definitely hit the spot. We went towards their closing time so the atmosphere was very chill, which we needed, especially after traveling with three fur babies (two dogs and a cat — who were at our nice Airbnb). Highly recommend coming on Taco Tuesdays for their drink specials and of course, the tacos! My boyfriend did say he was more of a fan of the shredded beef taco (completely forgot the name, but I second this recommendation as well) over the Catfish version. For me, the star of my dinner was definitely the Buffalo Chicken Dip, I totally wish it came in a bigger portion, I was very sad when it came to an end. Also! the lovely SJ was the sweetest server we ever encounter at any restaurant. She also gave us recommendations of places to check out while we were around the area, which was very amazing to have. ”
“ Great spot. We enjoyed a happy hour beer, a margarita and a Greek salad with Regan’s famous chickpea burger. Awesome outdoor space!! ”
“ On Chattanooga Burger Week we decided to participate by going to Outpost Bar & Restaurant for one of their specialty burgers that are only 8 during this annual event. We both had a Whistle Stop Burger which has pimento cheese, bacon, outpost sauce, and lettuce & tomato, that all together had a beautiful blended flavor. We ordered the Fried Okra strips with ranch dipping sauce (that Brett our waiter highly recommended to try)to accent the burgers and man was he right about the Okra being delicious even without the dip! We will most definitely plan on a return visit to experience all the other menu items that I'm positively sure will satisfy our taste buds! ”
“ We are traveling with a Golden Reteiver so we have to find Dog Friendly restaurants everywhere we travel and usally not the best food. The patio area is spacious, shaded during dinner, and has fake grass for the pup. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, all the the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious. We got the potato chip nachos, 9/10 delicious toppings and crunchy chips with a nice seasoning. For our meal we got the Outpost Burger, 9/10 messy to eat but delicious and nice crisp fries, the Catfish tacos, 9/10 the catfish was crispy and tender and full of fillings, and the braised beef over mashed potatoes, 8/10 tender peice of beef and the potatoes had lumps (which I prefer). Overall, good experience and would recommend especially for a family traveling with a Pup. ”
“ Great little place, drinks are tasty, food is delish. Menu is relatively small, but very well executed, amd there's lots of tasty alternatives. ”
“ I love hitting small local joints. Outpost didn’t disappoint. I had the chicken fried steak with okra. Really, really good! The okra is cut lengthwise making it great for dipping. Pretty good selection of craft brews as well plus other drink options. The service was attentive, quick and friendly. If you’re looking for a great local restaurant and bar, give this place a try! Definitely a local gem. ”
